Jim Millbauer - President
Jim has been hunting pheasants in eastern Washington since the 1970s where he has ran pointers and labradors. He is a retired Local 598 pipefitter where he served as a business agent amongst other roles. Jim is also currently on the Kennewick City Council, serving his second term. Further, he is the President of the Pacific Northwest Mustang club, volunteers for Bikes for Tikes, and has volunteered with the United Way. When Jim isn’t hunting pheasants with his black lab, he enjoys time with his grandkids, wrenching on his classic vehicles, and camping with his wife.
Matty Staudenmaier - Vice President
Matty has been a devoted hunter for all of his life. Predominately a big game hunter, he also has a passion for upland. Starting at a young age, you can find him working tough to access land in chase of roosters. Matty has been an electrician in the Tri-Cities for 13 years and is currently a commercial journeyman. Matty enjoys sharing his hunting and outdoors knowledge with others and helping the next generation of hunters in the field. When not in pursuit with his German short haired pointer, he’s enjoying time with his wife and daughters.
Sarah Wearstler - Treasurer
Matt Millbauer - Secretary
Matt has been an avid upland hunter his entire life. He lives in Kennewick with his wife and two teenage kids and volunteers at the Academy of Children’s Theater. He holds a masters degree in occupational safety management and a bachelors degree in project management. He currently is a global program manager for Amazon Web Services and is an adjunct instructor at Columbia Basin College. When not hunting pheasants over his two springer spaniels, Matt enjoys spending time with his family and working with his dogs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What happened to the old Tri-Cities chapter?
A: Tri-Cities chapter is being replaced by this chapter. It will cover the same territory.
Q: What is this new chapter’s territory?
A: Washington state’s Benton and Franklin counties.
Q: Where did the new officers come from?
A: In order to enroll as a new Pheasants Forever (PF), officers needed to be selected. These officers will hold their roles for a term and then they will be up for re-election if they choose. Matt Millbauer (secretary) and Jim Millbauer (president) reached out to PF asking about local chapter and worked with the PF rep to build this new one.
Q: What do you need from me?
A: The chapter will be looking to raise money through events, hold membership events for camaraderie, and look to help grow and improve habitat. We need your help - as much or as little - in helping in those areas. If you are curious at all, come to the meeting! There’s no obligation attached to just coming and chatting.
Q: Do I need to be a PF member to be in the chapter?
A: Yes, you need to be a PF member to be in a chapter.
Q: Are there chapter dues on top of being a PF member?
A: There are no local chapter dues.
Q: I’m busy, how much time do you need from me?
A: That’s up to you! You can help with the chapter’s efforts as much or as little as you’re available and able. At a minimum, we hope you can make some of the meetings.
Q: I want to help habitat in Benton and Franklin counties, but I’m not one for planting and moving soil. Can I still contribute?
A: We need help from people with skill sets from all over the board. We’re sure that what you are good at will be helpful!
Q: I want to help habitat in Benton and Franklin counties, but I don’t want to give other people my pheasant spots. Will I feel obliged to share hunting information that I don’t want to share?
A: Keep those spots to yourself! We’re not giving you our secret spots either :)
Q: I don’t know any other upland hunters in the area or am not plugged into other local hunting related groups, will I feel out of place at the meetings?
A: Not at all! Come and meet some people in the area that love upland hunting and want to help habitat too!
Q: Will this group be political?
A: No. And please help us keep it that way. PF does work at the national level on legislation that helps habitat, but at the local chapter level, we stay out of it and focus on local pheasants and habitat.
Q: Is the chapter on social media?
A: Yes, check us out on Facebook.
