Chasing Feathers Together - Women's Hunting Weekend

Calling all women!  Are you ready to hunt? Join us at the Chasing Feathers Together weekend event; Women on the Wing style
Friday - Sunday, November 10-12, 2023
Location: The Last Resort, 2005 Tucannon Road, Pomeroy, WA

Friday's pre-event begins at 1:00pm with clay target practice at W.T. Wooten Preserve
Check-in begins Friday afternoon when you arrive at The Last Resort. 
Proceeds from this event supports habitat enhancement, outdoor education and conservation in the Walla Walla Valley and Columbia County

Registration is NOW open, be sure to register early; spots are limited to 25 women and they will go FAST! 
Early bird registration allows for a $30 discounted ticket price.  Early bird closes October 1, and the prices will be increased at that time. 

FOOD
Your registration fee covers all food for the weekend!  Begin each day with a warm breakfast, coffee, and pastries.  Then take a trip through the sandwich and snack station to load up for the day.  Friday night's dinner is chili with all the fixin's.  Saturday's dinner will be an Italian food feast.

LODGING
There are a variety of lodging options available for this weekend. Share a cabin, motorhome, or RV, OR Bring your own RV or Tent. Full hookups available for RV sites. Please read ticket option drop-downs carefully for more details re: your lodging options. 

HUNTING
You will have opportunities to hunt a variety of fields.  Whether you're a fully experienced hunter or want a mentor working with you, support will be provided. Maybe you aren't ready to carry a loaded shotgun, but want to experience the uplands, that works!  We will be hunting in small groups and learning how to approach each field using our accumulated knowledge.  

TAKE-AWAYS / ACTIVITIES
There will be a variety of fun activities:  first aid demonstrations; processing a harvested bird from field to table; and tips and tricks for using the OnX app.  There will be exhibits sharing how to use feathers to make beautiful jewelry, ornaments, and hat bands.  Night-time activities can include: entertaining games and fun prizes, dessert contest, silent auction, hat contest, campfires, story times, smore's, lots of camaraderie, and more!

WHAT TO BRING
Bring your dog (not required) and gear!  Ammo (non-toxic is required on state lands), shotgun, hunting license, and ID.  All persons in the field must wear hunter-orange.  Don't forget your ice chest to store your processed birds, and bedding and towels for the cabin.  All registrants will receive more information about what to bring after registration closes and prior to the event.

In an effort to provide access for all, a scholarship for this event is available to any woman in need, contact event organizer for details.
