Join Coastal Virginia Quail Forever as we gather for a fun day on the range. NAS Oceana Skeet and Trap range provides three skeet fields, two of which have trap overlay, one wobble trap field and a five-stand range. Day use is $15 civilians/$10 military, each round of clays (25) is $12.50 which will be due the day of the event. After the event we'll probably go to a nearby restaurant or brewery for lunch.
Base Access is NOT required.

Skeet Regulations:
- The only ammo allowed is 7.5, 8 or 9 shot with a shell length of 2 ¾”, No Buckshot.
- Shot guns only. No tactical modifications, No pistol grips, minimum barrel length of 18”, No rifles or pistols.
- We do sell 12 and 20-gauge ammo and rent shotguns for those that do not have their own, limited numbers at this time.
- Each shooter must bring their own eye and ear protection.
- Each shooter must bring in their guns and ammo to the office to be checked before they shoot.
- Shooting age is 12 years old and up.
- Every person that will be on the field will need to come into the office each time they visit to sign our general liability sheet, even non shooters.
- All dogs must be on an 8 ft or shorter leash and under full control at all times.
- All shooters must stop shooting if “cease fire” is announced.
- Shooting will be stopped anytime there is lighting and thunder.
Range Rules:
- No more than two shells in the gun – one in the chamber and one in the magazine.
- Only one gun can be used on the range at a time, this is not a firing line.
- Load and fire on the stations marked with yellow paint.
- DO NOT walk with a loaded firearm.
- Keep the chamber on your gun open and empty when moving around.
- Eye and ear protection is required while on the field.
- DO NOT pass the field houses as they are the firing line
- Don’t forget to grab a bucket from the office to put your spent shells and cardboard in and bring back to the office to be thrown out.
