Meet the Biologist: Regional Talks on Bobwhite Quail Conservation

Join us for an informative and engaging series of regional "Meet the Biologist" talks hosted by Quail Forever Farm Bill Biologists and Georgia DNR Private Lands Biologists. These events are designed to introduce local landowners and hunters to the updated Bobwhite Quail Initiative providing valuable insights into the next 10 years of quail restoration efforts on public and private lands. 

Event Details

Each session will feature the Georgia DNR State Quail Biologist, Quail Forever Regional Representative Kenny Barker, and local biologists. We will also host a raffle with exciting prizes for attendees.

Purpose

-     Introduction to the Bobwhite Quail Initiative: Learn about the initiative's goals and benefits for landowners.

-     Meet Local Biologists: Meet the Quail Forever Farm Bill Biologists and Georgia DNR Private Lands Biologists in your area.

-     Resource Connections: Connect with various conservation resources and professionals.

-     Raffle Prizes: Participate in our raffle for a chance to win great prizes. Must be present to win.


Event Schedule

Time: 6:00 - 7:00 PM

1. Welcome & Introduction:

   - Overview of GA DNR Private Lands and Quail Forever

2. Bobwhite Quail Initiative (BQI) Overview:

   - Update on the new BQI 10-year plan and status of the quail population.
   - Q & A with the GA DNR State Quail Biologist

3. Who to Contact:

   - Key contacts for land management and conservation practices

4. Conservation Practice Resources:

   - Information on available resources and professionals (if time permits)

5. QF Chapter Overview & Raffle:

   - Learn about the local Quail Forever chapter and participate in the raffle.

- Statesboro: July 11th (Shooting Sports Education Center - 3271 Old Register Rd Statesboro, GA 30458) 

- Valdosta: September 19th (Lowndes County Extension Office)

- Perry: September 26th

- Floyd: August 22nd
