We're kicking 2024 off with a much anticipated "Waterfowl and Wildflowers" clinic on Saturday, March 9th at Bennington Lake in Walla Walla. Get ready for this day comprised of a beginner’s guide to duck hunting and conservation clay shoot.
Bring your shotgun, non-toxic ammunition, and duck call if you have one. This clinic is all about beginning waterfowl hunting and conservation. Our volunteers will go over gear, guns, dogs, and decoys. You will also learn about where to hunt, and bird identification. Finally, each participant will be given a new duck call to be used during a hands on demonstration on how to do the basic quack. After lunch (hosted by Women on the Wing) we will go out in the field to shoot some “Clays for Conservation.” This is a fun clay-target shoot where special targets filled with wildflower seed specific to our area. Whether they are hit or not, each target thrown plant seeds that will benefit Lake Bennington’s wildlife habitat. Prizes will be awarded during the shoot.
