Join us for a 3 day hunt at Longleaf Hill where Thursday to Saturday we will get comfortable with shotguns and wing shooting, see how bird dogs work, learn about habitat, hunt quail on private land, discuss hunting public land, and have a harvest processing demonstration.
This will be a women's only hunt. We are looking for women who have either no experience hunting upland species or have never had the opportunity in Georgia. We can help get you comfortable with a firearm, but prefer for the ladies to have basic firearm safety and understand basic functions of a shotgun. We will require participants to have proof of completed Hunter Safety Program in the state they reside. We will have shotguns participants can borrow for the hunt. We ask participants who have their own shotgun to bring it so they can practice with the resources most available to them. If you have no experience, no gear, no equipment, do not feel excluded from this hunt, just email ahawk@quailforever.org to see if this is a good hunt for you to learn. If you are an upland lady, with lots of experience please reach out! We will have room for mentors!
[Draft Schedule Subject to change. Final Draft posted 2/1]
Virtual Class Day- (sessions available 2/2 -2/14)
We will require participants to complete the virtual class day and phone call with the instructor. It will be a 4 hour video broken into manageable segments to help explain some of the basic principles when hunting upland species. It will also provide the opportunity to ask questions and have some one on one time with the instructor.
