Central Florida Chapter would like to invite you and your family to participate in a multi-day learn to hunt educational series! These will be free experiences with low barriers to entry. Participants will be required to take the FWC Hunter Safety 8 hour course before May13. Please use this link to be taken to the free NRA course. This is the first step to taking the free course. Please make a profile and continue the prompts to take the FWC Hunter Safety Course. This online portion is free through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. You will need to bring a printed copy of your certificate to the educational field day on May 13, 2023.
May 13 will be the part two of the hunter safety course where there will be hands on activities, educational materials, and instructors to aid in getting you comfortable and safe with firearms. A basic agenda:
7:30 AM - Check-in
8:00 AM - Education instruction
10:00 AM - Demonstrations
12:00 PM - Lunch (provided by host)
1:00 PM - Practice, Testing
4:00 PM - Optional Wing Shooting Clays
The second day of this series will be held in the summer. Dates to be determined. It will be a fun day of shooting, working dogs, and understanding basic hunting principles in the field.
The last day in the series will be held in the fall/winter, dates to be determined, as a mentored hunt. This will close the experience with a hunting experience on private property.
In between these structured days of learning there will be opportunities to gather as a group and practice skills. Optional range days, hunting, and field observation days. Registering for Part Two of the Hunter Safety Course is Free, but required to best prepare the facilities for learning and provide appropriate materials for all participants. Cost for day two and day three in the series will be determined at a later date.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact Kenny Barker at Kbarker@quailforever.org.
