Join us for a fun youth and ladies event! The fall Youth and Ladies Hunt/Field Campout will be a joint event with the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Indiana! It is an opportunity to for kids (around ages 12-17) and women to experience an introduction to pheasant hunting, bird dogs and to have conversations with experienced hunters and dog trainers. We will provide each participant an opportunity to practice shooting clay targets, have an introduction "meet and greet" with several bird dogs and a chance to get out in the field and harvest a pheasant with a hunt mentor.
For this event, participants should have some firearms handling experience, hunter's education class or shooting sports involvement. If participants have their own shotgun, they should bring that gun with them. A limited amount of shotguns will be available to borrow for the day. Shotgun shells in12ga and 20ga will be provided, if you plan to use a .410 or other gauge of shotgun, you will need to provide your own shotshells. It is recommended to have size 6 shot.
