-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Additional details:
• Donuts, juice, and coffee will be provided at the event's start.
• A short hunter’s safety refresher will be done as a group indoors.
• Trap shooting will help us warm up and prepare for the hunt. Instructors will be there beside you to help you if you’ve never shot trap before.
• Lunch will be provided around noon at no cost to all participants and any parents who stayed to watch.
• A demonstration of dog handling showing how both pointing and flushing dogs work in the field will be done as a group.
• Individual hunters will be taken out into the field with a mentor, a dog, and a dog handler to do an actual hunt on live pheasants. Participants will be given at least two opportunities to flush and shoot a pheasant
• As the hunting concludes the group will reconvene at the lodge for last-minute thoughts and be dismissed at approximately 3:30pm.
Gear you need to bring:
• A fully functional shotgun
• One box of #6 shot shells (25 shells)
