2024 Hands-On Habitat Workday - Ramsey County PF
Let's get our hands dirty again! The Ramsey County chapter of Pheasants Forever is recruiting volunteers to help pick up trash and remove a barbed wire fence on May 18th at the Robert and Marilyn Burman State Wildlife Management Area in Anoka County. Our primary focus this year is removal of a fence that runs along the east side of the property. RCPF has done barbed wire removal and trash cleanup on this site in prior years.
We plan to work from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and have a hot lunch at the end of the work day. Participants should bring heavy work gloves and wear boots and pants appropriate for work around barbed wire. Participants are invited to bring wire cutters, crowbar, fencing pliers and similar tools. The Chapter will bring a first aid kit for any minor cuts and scrapes along with bottled water. Please bring any additional beverage or snack you may want. The work group will gather afterwards for a hot meal - we have grilled brats or gone out for pizza in the past.
