Columbia/Marquette County Chapter Hands-On Habitat Workday
The Columbia/Marquette Chapter of Pheasants Forever welcomes you to join chapter volunteers and members of the public for an opportunity to improve wildlife habitat at the Peter Helland Wildlife Area approximately five miles east of Pardeeville. The workday will be from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022. Lunch, snacks, and beverages will be provided.
Official meet up location will be at the GPS Coordinate 43.521208,-89.191890. From the intersection of Highways 44 and P go east on P for five miles, then right (south) on Sawyer Road for two miles to a DNR parking lot which is a stones throw away from the North Branch of Duck Creek.
The 3,543-acre property is located in Columbia County and consists of approximately 2,700 acres of wetland, 500 acres of grassland, 240 acres of wooded habitat and some shrub and agricultural lands. Activities will include removing invasive woody species (red cedar, elms, honeysuckle, etc.) on two prairie restorations totaling 45 acres.
Please register for free to ensure we know how many participants will be attending. Please note that some activities will include strenuous physical activity. Bring work gloves, appropriate clothing and boots, and a personal water bottle.
If you have additional hand tools consider bringing the following: bow saw, lopping shears, and chainsaw. If you bring a chain saw you must wear a helmet and chaps.

I grant to Pheasants Forever Inc. and Quail Forever, its representatives and employees the right to take photographs of me and my property in connection with the above-identified subject. I authorize Pheasants Forever Inc. and Quail Forever to use and publish the same in print and/or electronically. I agree that Pheasants Forever Inc. and Quail Forever may use such photographs of me with or without my name and for any lawful purpose, including for example such purposes as publicity, illustration, advertising, and Web content. I have read and understand the above.
