About the GHRA:
The Glacial Habitat Restoration Area (GHRA) is a program aimed at restoring, creating and maintaining habitat for waterfowl, wild pheasants and non-game songbirds. The program's focus is the creation of a patchwork of restored grasslands and wetlands amid the established croplands of Columbia, Dodge, Fond du Lac and Winnebago counties.
Event Presentations:• Brian Kind with the Natural Resources Conservation Service will speak about wetland scrape design and suitable soils for implementation.
• Sara Comstock with Ducks Unlimited will talk about the Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program and the assistance the program provides to landowners.
• Peter Ziegler with the Wisconsin Waterfowl Association will give an overview of wetland restoration and what to expect with cost share programs.
• Greg Olsen with the Sand County Foundation will explain the many benefits of Prairie Strips including pollinators and soil health.
