We will be discussing all the steps of a prescribed fire from planning and permitting to field preparation to implementing the actual burn to mop-up and assessment. Attendants will get to see the process of the burn, preview various burn techniques, and discuss the overall effectiveness of the burn afterwards. The planned burn unit is a mature prairie restoration that is being actively managed in the Miesville Ravine Park Reserve.  Prescribed fire is hard to predict the exact date, but attendees will be given 24-48 hours notice between April 18 and April 22.
