We will be discussing all the steps of a prescribed fire from planning and permitting to field preparation to implementing the actual burn to mop-up and assessment. Attendants will get to see the process of the burn, preview various burn techniques, and discuss the overall effectiveness of the burn afterwards. The planned burn unit is a mature prairie restoration that is being actively managed. Wind direction, temperature, and burn prescription will dictate the exact date of the burn, between May 1 and May 12 in Carver or Scott, or Dakota county. We will call or email you 24 to 48 hours ahead of the burn to give you further instructions.
