Mud Creek Fence Removal Project
Please register to ensure we know how many helping hands we will have.
Friday April 1st- 20 people needed
Saturday and Sunday April 2nd and 3th- 60 people per day
Workday is 8 am to 4 pm
4/1/22 Friday
- Small group of volunteers/project leads free fence & posts from thicket area outline above.
- Begin freeing fence from posts are north most point of property.
- Utilize heavy equipment to begin removing posts from ground
4/2/22 Saturday
- Large group of volunteers separate between East & West Fence line
- Begin to free fence from posts
- Utilize heavy equipment to remove posts from ground
- Roll fence wire in 10-20 yard increments
- Collect posts in small sets along the previous fence line
4/3/22 Sunday
- Large group of volunteers separate between East & West Fence line
- Begin to free fence from posts
- Utilize heavy equipment to remove posts from ground
- Roll fence wire in 10-20 yard increments
- Collect posts in small sets along the previous fence line
Final steps
- Collect Wire & Posts in singular pick-up location
- 2nd pass to be sure all tools, wire & post has been collected
- Review any damage caused by heavy equipment and heavy foot traffic
- Recommend any repair based on DNR approval
- Enter Post/signage for WMA along property line.
Please note that this will be a strenuous activity.
Minimum Age for this work event is 18+ years old.
Please bring a personal water bottle. Water to refill your water bottle will be available. We want to eliminate the waste from disposable plastic water bottles.
Wear weather appropriate Clothing and Boots.
Bring eye and ear protection, and leather gloves. Additional tools: Lopping Shears, Fencing Pliers, Bolt Cutters, and Brush Saws
Lunch and snacks will be provided.

I understand that I am choosing to participate in this event. I understand that it is incumbent upon me to use the utmost care in the exercise of safety. I intend to do so and realize that I have an affirmative duty to do so. I further realize that Pheasants Forever, Inc., Quail Forever, their members, agents, employees, licensees, volunteers, and associates are participating in this event to give me a quality educational and/or outdoor experience. I understand that I will conduct myself in a manner as to be safe around all the individuals mentioned herein.
Further, I hereby waive all rights to any claim, cause of action, right of litigation of any kind, whatsoever originating from this event.
I grant to Pheasants Forever Inc. and Quail Forever, its representatives and employees the right to take photographs of me and my property in connection with the above-identified subject. I authorize Pheasants Forever Inc. and Quail Forever to use and publish the same in print and/or electronically. I agree that Pheasants Forever Inc. and Quail Forever may use such photographs of me with or without my name and for any lawful purpose, including for example such purposes as publicity, illustration, advertising, and Web content.
