Join the Great Water Chapter for a one of a kind experience. We will be viewing across 2 days, Prairie Chicken and Sharp-tail leks or "booming grounds". This will be a Friday-Sunday field trip.
View and hear from the blind, the sights and sounds as prairie chicken and sharp-tail grouse erupt into a flurry of activity as the sun rises. Each day we will go as a very small group to a viewing blind, 1 day for prairie chicken and another for sharp-tail grouse.

Dates
This will be a weekend field trip. Dates Friday April 12, 13, 14th. We will depart 5pm Friday and drive to Crookston, MN. Return will be Sunday 5pm
Cost
AirBNB: will be split amongst group (roughly $100 per person per night)
*Each person will get their own room
Food: Friday-stop at restaurant on way up. Saturday- split cost of food at AirBNB (breakfast, Lunch, Dinner). Sunday- Breakfast/Coffee at AirBNB, stop at restaurant for lunch on return
Gas: Split across group. Meetup location TBD
$300-350 is rough cost for weekend
Things to know
This is an early AM event. It is required to be in the viewing blind well before sunrise (6:35). Each day Saturday/Sunday we will be getting up and driving to blind. 4am is realistic time to get up
Conditions-Sitting in blind early AM in April for the longevity of activity until the birds leave can require "Cold Weather" gear. Make sure you have correct clothing, this spring may not require as much but need to be prepared.
Saturday- We will have time after viewing in morning, as group we can hang at AirBNB, share pics and experiences from the day, and cook dinner as group
Sunday- We will get up early, view from blind. Then head home from there.
