Carroll/Guthrie County Prairie Field Tour - Judson Prairie 3 pm session
Iowa Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever invites you to come join us at our pollinator field days to learn more about the importance of pollinators and their habitat. Information will be presented on pollinators, wildlife habitat, and how to manage natives while walking through the prairie to enjoy its beauty, and plenty of time for discussion.
Judson Prairie is a privately-owned remnant dry prairie and expect to see an awesome population of pale purple coneflower. In addition, unique species include scaly blazingstar, hairy gramma, grooved yellow flax, sand milkweed, and downy gentian.
Join us for one session, two sessions, or all three sessions. These events are free and open to the public, please RSVP. Events are held outside, weather permitting, so it’s suggested to wear long pants, hat, sunscreen, bug spray, etc. First several people to register will get a free prairie/native plant plug, while supplies last!
Please bring water and a lunch. If you need a lunch, there are restaurants in Coon Rapids. Plan to walk up to one mile.
There are other opportunities to join across the state; events available near Clarksville, Coon Rapids, Decorah, Fairfax, Larchwood, Littleton, and Rockford. To find the closest event and further information please visit/click on this website www.IowaPF.net/eventscenter.
