Women on the Wing Pheasants Forever chapter in SD is excited to announce the very first speaker series. We will be bringing in experts in their trade devoted to the conservation of our amazing SOUTH DAKOTA habitats. This is the first of a six part series. First up: Bridget Nielsen

Owner of Wall Canyon Vizslas, Bridget Nielsen, began her legacy in the outdoors where she started her career as a fish and wildlife biologist 32 years ago.  Growing up in Lake Tahoe, Nevada and then spending all her free time in the mountains researching endangered fish lit a fire for anything that involved fresh air and sunshine.  Her love of the outdoors pushed her to pursue triathlons and mountain expeditions.  It was when a good friend introduced her to bird hunting that led to a whole new way to experience the outdoors.  Wandering the mountains of Nevada trying to harvest wild chukar pushed her to buy a hunting dog. A Hungarian Vizsla captured her heart instantly and what first seemed frivolous, became a passion fueled and driven expedition to learn shooting sports, bird hunting, and dog training. All the while, her conservation career led her around the country, which led to more bird hunting adventures, dogs, friends, and dog competitions.  She now professionally trains and breeds birds dogs for hunters right here in South Dakota.  Meet up with us on April 5th at Scheels to hear her passion fueled story about pheasant hunting, bird dogs, hunting adventures and learn about how to pursue your own outdoors passion!
