South Dakota Women on the Wing Weekend

Pheasants Forever’s Women on the Wing initiative is pleased to present a multi-day pheasant hunting event for women. The event will be held at Grand Ceil Lodge in Plankinton, South Dakota, November 3 to 5. Creating a safe space that allows women in all stages of their outdoor journey to expand their outdoor and upland knowledge is the focus of this women led event. Session topics for the weekend will include pheasant ecology, biology, habitat considerations as well as how Women on the Wing supports creating a positive impact on the home and outdoor community. Participants will gain hands-on experience as they explore the elements that go into a pheasant hunt including shotgun handling and shooting, pre-pheasant hunt preparation, in field parameters, cleaning and cooking harvested birds.  Previous hunting experience not required, only a desire to learn more about pheasant hunting and a passion for the outdoors is requested. Equipment and supplies will be provided.
