Are you new to Upland Bird Hunting and want to learn how? Then this is the event for you!
The "Women on the Wings" group of the Central Oklahoma 89er Quail Forever Chapter is hosting a women's Learn to Hunt Upland Birds clinic on October 17, 2021 starting at 9am.
The "Women on the Wings" group of the Central Oklahoma 89er Quail Forever Chapter is hosting a women's Learn to Hunt Upland Birds clinic on October 17, 2021 starting at 9am.
The cost for this event is $20.00 and includes:
1. Safety training specific to common Quail hunting scenarios;
2. Learn about different breeds of bird dogs and how they work the fields;
3. A field hunt with a guide and bird dog to experience first-hand how it’s done;
4. Demonstration on cleaning birds; and
5. Lunch for all attendees.
This event is limited to 16 hunters; you must be pre-registered to participate.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Participants MUST have taken and passed Hunter’s Safety Class by ODWC or another state, and if over 16, must have an OK hunting license which will also require Hunter Education. Hunter Education can be completed online at (click) Oklahoma Hunter Education Online Course and a hunting license can be obtained here (click): Oklahoma Hunt & Fish Licenses.
- Previous shotgun experience is required with at least some basic shooting at a range.
- Attendees must provide their own transportation. It is helpful if you have a suitable shotgun, eye and ear protection, and shotgun shells. (We do have some shotguns and extra gear if needed, so please reach out to us if you do not have a shotgun to use.)
